Course Description:

This is a general overview of the use of music as a magickal tool. Class covers an overview of the use of chants and musical instruments in ritual and magick. This course is for the advanced student who already has a strong background in the magickal arts, however a student who has taken Wicca 101 can have the understanding of the materials taught in the course. This class is very participatory and many activities are involved including chanting and the use of simple musical instruments. Students will learn how to use chants in the phases of ritual and simple musical instruments in spells and magick. Many people feel they can’t do music however it is an inherent natural talent that everyone has and anyone can do it. This course covers a lot of materials but is a lot of fun.

Pagan Music 102:

Chant 1

Course Description:

This is a course that covers chanting in detail on raising energy in ritual and magick. Students will not only learn the well-known chants in the Pagan Community, but also be able to learn to compose their own chants. Simple Music Notation will be a part of the class, which is not hard to learn. Students will learn to read music with the use of recorders. Percussion instruments (drums and rattles) and dancing will also be included with the use of chants in ritual. This is a fun and exciting class that all Pagans will love to take.

Course Description:

This is the continuation of Chant 1 course. Further studies of chants will be discussed and sung. By the end of this course students will have the ability to use well-known chants, compose their own simple chants, and play chants on recorders. Once again this will be a fun and exciting class for all Pagans.

Pagan Music 104:

Music as a Magickal Tool 1

Course Description:

This course is a fun and exciting class. Students will learn how musical instruments are used in ritual and magick. Musical instruments correspond to the four elements in four different categories. Students will learn to use simple musical instruments that correspond to spells and in ritual. Students will also be able to create spells with the use of musical instruments as a part of the spell. Music notation and reading of music is not needed nor required for this class. Most music performed is improvised unless the student has previous knowledge of music.

Music as a Magickal Tool 2

Course Description:

This is a continuation of Pagan Music 104 with a deeper emphasis on creating ritual with music. Course includes ritual and magick with the use of musical instruments, chants, and dance and movement. At the end of both these courses, student will have a complete knowledge of the use of music in magick and have the ability to create or incorporate the knowledge into their own practice.

Pagan Music 201:

Music for the Pagan Minister

Course Description:

This is a course designed for the Pagan Minister who wishes to learn to use music in their rituals, clergy work, and practice. Materials in previous Pagan Music Class will be covered but with emphasis on creating music magick in personal Tradition or path. Healing with music such as Chakra Balancing with music and musical tones will be studied and practiced. Class assignments include creating a wheel of the year of chants for the specific tradition, finding musical instruments appropriate to deity of tradition, and musical instrument to the elements in the tradition. The assignments include a lot of creative and research of the individual. This class is designed for the Pagan Minister or leader of covens, however it is open to others who wish to learn materials of the course.

Music for the Pagan Minister

Course Description:

These are one on one lessons with Alfred Surenyan on different musical instruments that can be used as a magical tool. There is no time limit for this class and can be taken as long as needed. Lessons are one hour per week and arranged between the student and teacher.
